In the mid-17th century, an old farmstead on Landgoed Duin en Berg was converted into a beautiful retreat. On the adjacent Landgoed Kruidberg, an older farmstead was also renovated into a stately country house. At the time, this was one of the largest court towns in the Velsen area. Both estates were merged in the 19th century. Over the years, the manor has held various functions, including that of a Roman Catholic church, the presbytery of Driehuis and housing for German officers. The entrance to the estate is marked with two stone columns. The name 'Duin en Kruidberg' is engraved on it.
