Pajottenland, Geuzeland

The Pajottenland extends along the south and west sides of the Brussels agglomeration. Dozens of specialized gueuze breweries have been active on the banks of the Senne and the Brussels-Charleroi canal in recent centuries. Of the eleven survivors you will discover three: 3 Fonteinen and Oud Beersel (Beersel) and Boon (Lembeek). The Geuze beer that you taste along the way is made from several lambics of different ages. Lambic beer is created by the action of wild yeasts that only occur in the Pajottenland. They pour into the open wort vats and ensure a unique fermentation and taste.
