Enjoy a lovely walk on the Geijsteren Estate

Near Venray you will find the centuries-old Geijsteren Estate, an ideal walking area full of beautiful forests, stately lanes and some beautiful fens. The route mainly runs over unpaved paths, so put on good walking shoes or boots in rainy weather. Time to go!

Horse mill
The starting point of this route is in the middle of the estate. From here you walk through the lush forests of the estate that has been owned by the noble family De Weichs de Wenne since 1806. You pass the Rosmolen. This watermill was built in 1667 and is still used to grind grain. A little further on you walk over the extensive sand drifts with juniper bushes of the Boshuizerbergen estate.

Historical Geijsteren
You can also take a look at the Gothic Saint Willibrordus Chapel from 1543. Further on you will pass the ruins of the medieval Geijsteren Castle. In the village itself you can admire several houses that still have the colours on the shutters of the former Geijsteren lordship.

Practical information
This route can be walked in 4 distances. The left loop is a round of about 9 km. At junction 25 you walk back to starting point number 20. You can also walk a route of 6 or 4 km. Consult the route map for the abbreviations. The map is for sale at the VVV shop in Venray.
