Provided by: Paderborner Land
During this stage you will get to know the Paderborner Land from a completely different side. This western region is characterized by its flat landscape, which connects to the Soester Börde.
After crossing the beautiful meadow landscape, you will become acquainted with the special flair of the cities of Salzkotten and Delbrück. During the Middle Ages, Salzkotten was an important salt-producing city. Today, the reconstructed graduation work and the so-called Kütfelsen testify to this salt production. The current source house, built on the geologically valuable Sinter Hill on the market square, is an important symbol for Salzkotten.
Delbrück can be recognized from afar thanks to the leaning church tower of the parish church of St. Johannes Baptist. Delbrück lies between three nature reserves: the Lippe lowland, the Ems lowland and the Delbrücker ridges. The cycling paradise of Delbrück is characterized by the many churches and chapels on the edge of the road.
Regional specialties such as the famous Delbrücker asparagus, the freshly baked bread in the ,,Hospitable Village\\\" or the various kitchen specialties of the farm taverns provide the necessary culinary delight during this stage.
The surprising landscapes of the Paderborner Land are a true paradise for cycling enthusiasts. Here you fly effortlessly over the well-constructed cycle paths while enjoying the most beautiful views. In the cozy cities in this area you can take a well-deserved break to get acquainted with the delicious regional cuisine.
