Country estate route De Bilt

Your route starts at Van der Valk Hotel De Bilt - Utrecht. On the Utrechtse Heuvelrug you can marvel at the many stately country estates that were built here by the Dutch empire at the end of the eighteenth century. You first walk to Buitenplaats Houdringe. In 1640 the farm came into the possession of Jan Frederik Mamuchet. He built a mansion and farm on this site and named it after the Houdringue family property near Lille. On the estate you will see oaks and beech trees that are 235 years old, with a diameter of more than one meter. Beerschoten Estate is an English landscape park with a flowing stream, meadows and old avenues.
