First follow our beer route to restaurant and brewery De Hemel in the Commanderie van St. Jan, a medieval monastery building with a beautiful hidden terrace. Tip: the Heavenly or Hellish Tasting in the Brouwerscafé, a small glass of 6 or 10 draft beers - with explanation.
The Brouwtoren is quite different. This brewery started in 2012 as a new hobby of four friends, with a small kettle and some plastic buckets. The tasting room is located in the brewery. In addition to the four proven beers
there are also always taste experiments to judge. This is how you steer along with the brewing process.
Be sure to drop by Special Beer Café De Deut. This is the most kitschy café in Nijmegen!
You can also put your taste buds to work at the Honig complex in Nijmegen. In the factory where packages for ready-to-eat meals were once produced, you can now enjoy traditional food and drinks, in a nice cool
industrial atmosphere.
Nevel makes'wild beers\\\' from naturally grown herbs, fruit,
bark and even vegetables from the area. Local suppliers receive a fair price for their products, so that they can continue to grow sustainably. To them, brewing is more than just making beer; it is the way to a new balance. In the Tasting Room they tell you all about it while you spin pictures and play games.
Afterwards you can have a nice meal at De Meesterproef. Here they also serve a high beer: a tasting of three different types of beer from local suppliers, with all kinds of suitable dishes.
