Tour Giethmen, Ommen and Vilsteren

Your cycle route starts at Camping De Koeksebelt. On the other side of the road you will immediately discover the beautiful estate Het Laer. It used to be a castle; the surrounding moats and the wooded area in which the castle stood out are still visible. It has had many different owners over the years. After a number of sieges, renovations and takeovers, Landgoed Het Laer has grown into a beautifully restored manor house. The lookout tower on the Besthemerberg guarantees a magnificent view of the wide area. You will also cycle through the hamlet of Vilsteren, named after the Vilsteren family. An inhabited esdorp with fields and farms since 1382. And now an estate of 1000 hectares, complete with a school, a church, a mill; the Vilsterse Molen.
