Description
Plan a few days off for this multi-day cycling route and delve into the history of the Defense Line of Amsterdam, a world heritage site.
Admire the forts from the outside and, where possible, take a fort tour to learn about the history of these structures.
This brisk tour is not the shortest route, but it does take you past almost all the forts of the Defense Line of Amsterdam. You can start anywhere on the route or ride in parts.
Only the Fort at IJmuiden is not on the route, but for the rest you can see all the forts of this defense line from your bike. Fort on the Pampus can be seen from a considerable distance and can be visited from Amsterdam-IJburg and Pampus. In some cases a detour is taken to show more (different) parts.
