Groot Vleeshuis

The Groot Vleeshuis dates from the early 15th century. Butcher shops were covered marketplaces where sales were centralized to monitor the freshness and quality of the meat. The building has a remarkable and beautiful open wooden truss. The promotion and tasting center for East Flemish regional products is located in the imposing medieval covered meat market. It is the ideal base to discover East Flemish cuisine, from aperitif to dessert.
