Description
There is a train connection between Zwolle and Emmen called the Blauwnetlijn. This train route runs straight through the Vechtdal. This multi-day hike takes you through the area surrounding this route with beautiful green nature and various Overijssel and Drenthe towns. Choose one of the partial routes or follow the entire route and enjoy everything this area has to offer.
Several nice towns
The starting point of this walk is at Zwolle train station. From here the route takes you to Dalfsen, Ommen, Mariënburg, Hardenberg and Gramsbergen. Along the way you will come across several country houses such as Huize Den Berg and the beautiful main building on the Vilsteren Estate. You can also make a stop at De Stokte Lookout Tower. Climb this tower to enjoy a beautiful view. Along the way you can enjoy a peaceful landscape with historic paths and characteristic farms on the border of the Vechtdal and the Reestdal.
On to Coevorden and Emmen
You then continue on to historic Coevorden, the oldest city in all of Drenthe. Admire the special mix of centuries-old buildings and modern architecture here. From Coevorden you set off on the last part of the route. You ultimately end the tour at Emmen train station.
