Through the Ooijpolder
You cycle past War Memorial Deest. After this you get ready for some kilometers through the Gelderse River area. You enjoy the beautiful views while cycling over the meandering dikes along the Waal. From Nijmegen you cross the Waal twice, from the bridge you have a nice view of the beautiful Waalkade. In the Ooijpolder you can enjoy peace, space and characteristic farms and churches.
This route is truly a historical cycling route. You will pass Museum Mooi Nederland in Beek, where you can learn everything about the stone industry. You also cycle past the Gelders Gedistilleerd Museum and the Van 't Lindenhout Museum in Nijmegen. For example, Van 't Lindenhout Museum is located in an old church, where you can learn more about the history of the Orphan and Children's Village Neerbosch. Finally, you will pass the Kapelberg Bergharen, an inspiring haven full of history.
