Along the Oxerhof estate and Huis De Voorst

From the beautiful Berkel you will discover the golden triangle of Lochem, Zutphen and Vorden. Historic houses, meandering streams: you drive through a beautiful authentic landscape.

The Oxerhof
After a cup of coffee at Camping Domein Groot Besselink, you can take a ferry across the beautifully meandering Berkel to the picturesque town of Almen. Just north of the Dortherbeek you pass through the hamlet of Oxe with the De Oxerhof estate. House Oxerhof and the English-style landscape park date from 1862. You will also find a monument honoring the resistance fighters who were killed here in the Second World War, just before the arrival of the liberators.

The Voorst
You will not lack historical buildings during your route. You drive through the nice old Gorssel and pass the Molen Geertruida Cornelia, a corn mill from 1893. Just before the Hanseatic city of Zutphen you discover Huis De Voorst, an impressive seventeenth-century house in a varied landscape complete with park forest and garden. The white country house Het Velde, a little further away, dates from 1326. The current appearance was created in the sixteenth century. You drive back to the starting point via De Warkense Molen.
