Your route starts at Gast Tweewielers. You cycle through the Twente scenic landscape to Tubbergen and Geesteren. Further on you will pass Veenmuseum Westerhaar, an open-air museum. Here you will discover peat huts, an old typical Vriezenveen farm and a nineteenth-century shop and taproom. You drive past the Engbertsdijksvenen, a vast peat area with heath, forests and fens. It is a remnant of the large peat swamp that once covered the northeast of the Netherlands. In Sibculo you pass the grounds of the Cistercian monastery Greater Galilee, which was built around the year 1400. Little has been preserved of this monastery, but its history is kept alive in the museum 'Visible Past'.
