Description
Country estate Beeckestijn
The starting point of this route is on the edge of the Buitenplaats Beeckestijn. From here you walk past the beautiful fortified country house of Beeckestijn that is located here. In the 18th century an influential regent bought this country house and in 1755 he had the house enlarged. He also had a park built at the back of the house. The gardens of Beeckestijn in particular are special to see. Here you will find a playful, natural English landscape park and a strict garden according to the French Baroque next to each other. You will not see that anywhere else in the Netherlands. Walk through these gardens and enjoy this oasis of peace in the busy Randstad.
Waterland Estate
The next beautiful spot on your journey is Landgoed Waterland. This estate is located on the edge of the former Wijkermeer and is one of the few remaining country estates from the 18th century in Velsen. From here you walk through the quiet forests of Velsen.
Velserbeek Park
A large part of this route runs through Park Velserbeek. This green park full of forests originated from an old country estate with a rich history. Now the country estate consists of a quiet nature reserve. Walk through the quiet nature and completely unwind for a while. Before you know it, you will be full of new energy.
