Buitenplaats Waterland

Buitenplaats Waterland is located on the edge of the former Wijkermeer in the municipality of Velsen. It is one of the few remaining old country estates from the 18th century in Velsen. The central part of the house Waterland dates from about 1742. The two side wings date from the period 1761-1765. The park is characterized by its landscape style. It came into fashion in the second half of the 18th century. Romantic winding paths and varied views were a break from the formal garden layout that preceded it.
