Cycling through the hinterland of Zutphen

Behind Zutphen you will find a beautiful bike ride through a quiet coulisse landscape and through nature reserve Het Grote Veld. You will also experience the charm of old towns such as Lochem and Gorssel.

Museums You can visit museum STAAL here, which is dedicated to the Achterhoek and the poet Staring. There is also a very nice stop in Gorssel: museum MORE. Around this village you drive through a mosaic of forests, small-scale landscapes and flowery fields. Near the IJssel you come along the Ravenswaarden. This unique nature reserve is one of the best preserved Dutch meandering values.

Picturesque Lochem You pass the Molen Geertruida Cornelia, a corn mill from 1893. After driving past the Warkense Molen from 1878, you pass Kasteel Den Bramel. At Landgoedhotel Woodbrooke you can enjoy a drink and a snack on the terrace. Just below Lochem you can see a few fifty-metre high hills in the landscape: the Lochemse Berg and Kale Berg. In the heart of Lochem you can enjoy the historical atmosphere, thanks in part to the old Sint-Gudulakerk.
