Cycling through the hinterland of Zuthpen

Behind Zutphen, a beautiful bike ride awaits you through a quiet scenic landscape and through the Het Grote Veld nature reserve. You will also experience the charm of old towns such as Lochem and Gorssel.

Museums
From Hotel Landgoed Ehzerwold you first drive to the picturesque Almen. Here you can visit the STAAL museum, which is dedicated to the Achterhoek and the poet Staring. There is also a very nice stop in Gorssel: museum MORE. Around this village you drive through a mosaic of forests, small-scale landscapes and flower-filled fields. Near the IJssel you pass the Ravenswaarden. This unique nature reserve is one of the best preserved Dutch meandering values.

Picturesque Lochem
You pass the Molen Geertruida Cornelia, a flour mill from 1893. After you drive past the Warkense Mill from 1878, you pass Den Bramel Castle. At Landgoedhotel Woodbrooke you can enjoy a drink and a snack on the terrace. Just below Lochem you will see a few fifty-meter high hills in the landscape: the Lochemse Berg and Kale Berg. In the heart of Lochem you can enjoy the historic atmosphere, thanks to the old St. Gudula Church.
