Enjoy the countryside of Zutphen

In the wooded area around Zutphen it is wonderful to travel for miles. This route takes you through beautiful villages such as Almen and Gorssel. You will also pass Den Bramel Castle.

Green Gorssel
After you have loosened your legs along the beautiful green bank of the Twenthe Canal, you drive into the countryside near Gorssel. Around this village you cycle through a mosaic of forests, small-scale landscapes and flower-filled fields and fields. Here you will also see the Geertruida Cornelia Mill, a flour mill from 1893. Near the IJssel you will pass the Ravenswaarden. This unique nature reserve is one of the best preserved Dutch meandering values.

Den Bramel
After you have driven past the Warkense Mill from 1878, you will pass Den Bramel Castle a little further on. There has been a castle here since the fourteenth century, the current building was built in 1726. The surrounding estate is open to the public. A little later you drive through the Het Grote Veld nature reserve. Fragrant conifers and shady deciduous trees alternate here. In Almen you can enjoy a drink and meal at Landhotel De Hoofdige Boer.
