Tour of the Vechtdal and Hellendoornse Berg

Sometimes you have to climb a bit, like in the forests near the Hellendoornse Berg. Also in the nature reserve Archemer- and Lemelerberg you occasionally drive up through the deciduous forests and over the heath. In the Vechtdal you drive through a picturesque landscape. Along the river are meadows, hedgerows and quiet forests. You also pass through the hamlets of Junne and Beerze, which still largely consist of old thatched Saxon farms. It is wonderfully quiet in the forests near Beerze. Just below Ommen you drive past the Het Laer estate. The moats of the castle from 1382 are still visible. In the seventeenth century a manor house was built there, which played an important role in the Krishnamurti movement in the previous century.
