Rotterdam from Hillegersberg

In the middle of a residential area in Hillegersberg/Schiebroek, I found a spot with multiple parking spaces. Once I arrived at my destination, it turned out to be extremely busy. All the spots were occupied, so I looked for a spot on the street. I just managed that. It turned out that there was a small recreation park within walking distance, which, given the crowds, was quite popular with families with small children.
A nice approach route takes us to the Bospolder district where we quickly find a nice terrace. We linger there for a while. The Tingeling-Te Laat tram passes by. Also a nice way to view the city. From the terrace I saw some nice facades so I had to take a look. At the end of the street (the Noordschans) I come across a mill body. It is the remains of a round smock mill built in 1771 as a malt mill, originally called"Rauwketel\\\", renamed"de Liefdadigheid\\\", rebuilt as a grain mill and renamed"de Graankorrel\\\".
We cycle further and pass through Historic Delfshaven. Around 1400 it was founded after the city of Delft had built a harbour between the Delfts Schie and the Maas. It is also the birthplace of Piet Heyn. 400 years ago the Pilgrim Fathers also left from here to America.
We cycle past the bicycle tunnel that goes under the Maas, and the Euromast.
See the Erasmus Bridge in the distance which we later cross on our way to the Kop van Zuid where we can take a closer look at the departure/arrival hall of the Holland America Line. Since there is a long queue at the restaurant we cycle a bit further to enjoy a delicious toasted sandwich at Katendrecht.
On the way to the center we pass "Ketelbinkie", the SS Rotterdam, and murals in the Afrikaanderwijk.
