Description
The Second World War had a great influence on the whole of the Netherlands. The Liberation Cycle Route Limburg takes you past various listening locations in Central Limburg. At each listening point you can learn more about the events that took place here during the war through listening posts. You keep hearing about the experiences of one or more people during the last years of the war.
A visit to a museum
The starting point of the route is in Roermond. From here you can easily visit the Saint Christopher Cathedral. You can also immediately step on the pedals and start your bike ride. Along the way you can also visit the Roerstreek Museum in Sint Odilienberg and the Roerdriehoek Museum in Montfort. The Roerdriehoek Museum is completely dedicated to the Second World War.
A sip and a bite
There are also several tourist information points along the route. You can drop in here for more information about the area and sights in the region. You will also find all kinds of cozy catering establishments near these information points. When the weather is nice, you can relax on one of the terraces with a cool drink in your hand or go for a tasty lunch.
