Description

This challenging tour is only suitable for experienced hikers who like to walk on unpaved and partly uneven terrain.
Dogs are not allowed on this tour!

The start is at the Aarweide swimming pool on the Schilkerweg in Ter Aar.
You will come across the first junction marking when you walk up the cycle path to the right after leaving the car park.

The first part of the walk leads to the Paradijsweg, the growers' neighborhood of Ter Aar. Enjoy the pretty flower gardens. In addition to flowers, fruit and vegetables are also for sale along the way.
Please note that the marking is missing at the Paradijsbrug. Go onto the tiled path before the bridge (Smitskade). Enjoy the view of the Langeraarse Plassen along the way.
At the end of this path you will come across a picnic bench. If you want to rest between flowering roadsides, you better walk on to the next picnic spot 900 meters further on at KP 46.

Now it will begin the part that follows is full of surprises.
After two gates you step over a wire fence. Keep walking to the left of the cabbage fields, this part is difficult to pass. Keep following the ditch (Krakeelroute). At the end of the cabbage field, the path bends to the left and you will see a marker and a picnic bench. Ignore this marking otherwise you will not leave the land!! Walk around the corn field through the track in the grass.
You can leave the country via a concrete dam between two barns.
Turn left on the cycle path and a little later you will come across KP 39.

On the pig quay, keep walking straight ahead and don't be tempted until the semi-paved studded path on your left leads to IJsboerderij.

A little further between KP16 and KP15 you will find a small nature reserve called De Brongaard. Here you can take an extra detour or participate in a picking day.

After a nice tour through the Zeegerplas area, you will arrive at the bridge over the Aar Canal. Tip: in the Zeegerpark you can also walk on the adjacent forest paths when it is busy, which will end up at the marking posts along the asphalt paths.
Go down the stairs over the bridge and walk across the grounds of the rowing club, then continue to follow a grass path along the water until you see a sign from Rondje Alphen to the right. Cross the busy road and follow the cycle path for a short distance. Follow the road along the Schoutenvaart via a swing gate.

Further on the Hogedijk near Korteraar you walk past a special pumping station. The dike is easy to follow and comes out of KP81 almost at the terminus.
Note that there is a bull in the meadow on the last part of the Hogedijk.
If you don't dare pass it, you can walk around. Cross the bridge over the water and turn right onto the Korteraarseweg. Keep following this all the way, even after the dead end sign. Following a path along the arks of the Hoekse Aarkade.
Walk out of the Hoekse Aarkade past the yacht builder and at the end turn right until the bridge, here you take the same way back as on the way to the parking lot.
