Enjoy Gouda and the Krimpenerwaard

Gouda has a beautifully preserved old centre. Around Gouda you can seek out the peace and space of the Krimpenerwaard.

First you will go through the Krimpenerwaard on your steel horse. It is wonderful cycling here with wide views over the grasslands that are grazed by cows. You will also find characteristic old villages, such as the picturesque Vlist with its monumental seventeenth-century farms. The historical appearance has also been preserved in Haastrecht.

Old Gouda The Reeuwijkse Plassen were created in the eighteenth century by peat extraction. The peat was used by potteries and brewers in Gouda, among others. From the dike that runs through the middle of the lakes, you have beautiful views over the water. In Gouda, you can experience the atmosphere of times gone by in the old center. You pass right by the fifteenth-century Gothic St. John's Church, beautiful!
