Lekdijk

At the beginning of this century, the Schieland and Krimpenerwaard Water Board started to strengthen the Lekdijk. In several places the dike turned out to be not strong and / or high enough. For example, between Bergambacht and Schoonhoven, at Lekkerkerk and at Krimpen aan den IJssel. Thanks to the reinforcement, the Krimpenerwaard remains dry even at high tide.
