The Kwade Hoek nature reserve was kept outside the dike during the Delta Works and the sea is still in charge here. Especially in winter, large areas of land are flooded when salt water flows far into the area via channels and creeks. Salt marshes, mudflats, dune valleys: everything is under the direct influence of the sea, which keeps the landscape moving with the tide. This influence is greatest at the northeastern tip, where so much sand is spread that young dunes continue to form and the land slowly grows.

Korenlust
Then you cycle further to a flour mill from 1856 with the appropriate name Korenlust. The flour mill was in operation until 1961 and in that year the mill was purchased by the municipality of Stellendam. He had the mill restored in 1964. Since 1988, the mill has been owned by the Goeree-Overflakkee Mill Foundation. The mill can be visited on Saturdays and by appointment. On Sunday it is a day of rest and the mill is closed and stationary.
