Tour of Mariënberg, Ommen and Vechtdal

Your route starts at Camping De Kleine Wolf & brasserie De Wolventuin. The valley through which the winding Vecht winds its way, is a beautiful landscape in which picturesque villages, extensive estates, dense forests and wide moors stretch out. The old Hanseatic city of Ommen has a rich history and the center is bustling with life and coziness. Pay a visit to the Konijnenbelt windmill, an oil and peeling mill that was built in 1806, or the beautiful estate and castle Eerde. The castle first appears in writing in the thirteenth century, but then it was still known as the House of Eerde. The castle took its present form around 1715. In the same century, a park was created around the castle in the popular English landscape style.
