You can take a varied cycling tour in the river area between Arnhem and Nijmegen. You drive over winding dikes past nature reserves such as the Oosterhoutse Waard and the Bemmelse Waard. There is also no shortage of cultural history on this route. From the Waaldijk you can see the beautiful white-plastered fifteenth-century village church of Slijk-Ewijk. In Valburg you pass the Nieuw Leven, a flour mill from 1750. Elst is the largest town on your route. Here you can take a look at the beautiful Grote Kerk. In Bemmel it is time for a stopover. At Het Wapen van Bemmel you can enjoy a delicious lunch on the cozy terrace. Further afield is De Kinkelenburg Castle, whose history dates back to the thirteenth century. On the edge of Lent you pass the Waal Crossing Monument near Nijmegen.
