Walking in East Groningen

This short walking route of less than 10 kilometers takes you along the most beautiful buildings around Wedde and Veelerveen in Groningen.

Beautiful buildings
During this route you will pass a number of beautiful buildings. One of those buildings is Kasteel Koeweg - Vriescheloo. The building was commissioned by Bram Boekestijn. It is a modern house built after the example of old castles. A little later you walk past Kasteel Pastorielaan 4 - Vriescheloo. It seems as if the sun always shines here, partly due to the warm Mediterranean appearance of this stately country house. The plastered central part with the covered entrance, framed by pillars, is flanked by side aisles made of apple blossom-coloured cloisters. The outbuildings are also built with the same monastic jokes. The location of this country house is idyllic.

Quiet environment
The landscape you walk through is soothing. Even though this walk is less than 10 kilometers long, you will get a breath of fresh air during this route and you will completely relax in the fine Groningen landscape. Meadows, lots of greenery and forests. Take a good look around you and take it in. It will be a nice nature walk!
