Description
Lelystad has plenty to offer cyclists: new architecture, urban nature and views over the Markermeer. You will experience plenty of peace in the surrounding polders.
Batavia
From the starting point you cycle a long way along the IJsselmeer. A nice path to get a breath of fresh air and forget the everyday routine. You will pass the Bataviawerf, among other things. Here you can admire a replica of the Batavia, the famous seventeenth-century ship. You can also learn more about historic shipbuilding here.
Nature Park Lelystad
While the kilometers slide by under your wheels, you look out over wide grasslands and canals in the polder. The land reclaimed from the Zuiderzee is tightly divided here. Occasionally a green canopy appears on the horizon. You drive through the Ketelbos, the Swifterbos and along Nature Park Lelystad. You enter Lelystad along one of the many canals. You can see nice examples of modern architecture and urban design here.
