Round Sneek

Between Franeker and Sneek you drive through the vast Frisian countryside. In Edens (called Iens in Frisian) you can take a look at the beautiful old church built on a mound. In Hinnaard you can see a clock house from 1870. It stands on the spot where a church stood until 1862. Lytsewierrum is also worth a visit. It enjoys a protected village view and houses the Gertrudis Church from 1557. A little later you drive into Sneek, one of the most beautiful towns in Friesland. You will pass the Town Hall from 1480 and the Martini Church, which originally dates from the eleventh century. In IJsbrechtum you will see the Epemastate, a stins from 1625.
