Description

In the Krimpenerwaard you cycle through a characteristic Dutch landscape of vast polders, vistas and windmills. Along the way you will encounter plenty of cultural history in villages and the beautiful town of Gouda.

Loetbos
You follow the winding river downstream to the west. From the dike you have a beautiful view of the rippling water and the many boats, and on the other side you see meadows, pollard willows and old farms. You enter the polders again via Lekkerkerk. You pass through the Loetbos, a nature reserve that takes its name from the river De Loet.

St. John's Church
You pass the Schuurkerk Berkenwoude which is next to the Reformed Church. You drive along the Hollandse IJssel to Gouda, which is known for its historic city center. And not without reason, what beautiful buildings you see here! You can admire the medieval St. John's Church and the beautiful fifteenth-century town hall. Just outside Gouda you drive past the Reeuwijkse Plassen, a unique nature reserve.
