Description
You can easily relax for a day in the Noordoostpolder. And you will find Schokland, the former island that has been designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
Kadoeterbos
You warm your legs along the Kadoetermeer, which forms the border between Overijssel and Flevoland. On the other side of the water you cycle through the Kadoeterbos. This varied nature reserve runs parallel to the old coastline of the IJsselmeer. Then the vastness of the Noordoostpolder awaits you with its rows of trees, straight roads and vast fields. Get some fresh air while enjoying the peace and quiet.
World Heritage
From the dike along the Ketelmeer you have a beautiful view of the surroundings. In the distance you can already see Schokland, a unique part of the Netherlands. For centuries, Schokland was an island in the Zuiderzee. At the northernmost point was the village of Emmeloord, now the center of the Noordoostpolder.
