Walk around the Krimpenerwaard

Around Lekkerkerk you can take a walking tour through the Krimpenerwaard. You will see beautiful old farms, and you will also pass the small-scale Bakkerswaal nature reserve with its duck decoy. Nearby you can take a break at Theetuin and B&B Onder De Pannen. You are right on the Lek! Further on you walk through the Krimpenerhout. In this relatively young recreational area, forests, water and meadows alternate. It is also nice to walk along the river De Loet, while looking out over reed collars and the rippling water. Many birds live along the water, and you can also spot special plants. After a while, the vast landscape makes way for the Loetbos. Native trees such as willows, alders and poplars grow there: species that feel at home in this low peat area.
