Lekkerkerk

Lekkerkerk has an old center with the Grote or Johanneskerk as an eye-catcher. Walking or cycling along the Voorstraat you can enjoy the beautiful view over the Lek and activity on this busy river. In the village itself you will find nice shops and a number of special places, such as the small Jewish cemetery on the corner of Kerkweg and Tiendweg-West. A place to literally dwell on is the small monument on the Wetering-Oost: a location where the Allies once dropped weapons for the resistance during World War II. Also beautiful, the Loetbos with its beautiful flora and fauna, fine cycling and hiking trails and canoeing facilities.
