The Pronkjewailpad through Northern Groningen

If you like long-distance routes, you will of course know the Pieterpad. But did you know that you can also explore the province of Groningen with the Pronkjewailpad? Along the way you will find plenty of nice places to stay.

Lauwersmeer
A walking tour of over 250 kilometers that introduces you to the peace and natural beauty in the province of Groningen. For example, you walk through De Marne. In this vast region you will pass Pieterburen, among other places. Then you walk through Lauwersmeer National Park. Then you walk through polders again. Enjoy the peace and the rich cultural history in old villages.

Martini Tower
Of course you also walk through Groningen city. In the charming and beautiful old center you see the Martini Tower. The Goudkantoor and the city hall are also well-known sights. The Dannemeer is a relatively new untouched nature reserve in the Slochteren region. Here you see a mosaic of reed, sedge, swamp forests and open water. Further on you walk along the Schildmeer and through Delfzijl.
