The Pronkjewailpad through North Groningen

If you like long-distance routes, you are of course familiar with the Pieterpad. But did you know that you can also explore the province of Groningen with the Pronkjewailpad? You will find plenty of nice places to stay overnight along the way.

Lauwersmeer
A walking tour of more than 250 kilometers that introduces you to the tranquility and natural beauty of the province of Groningen. For example, you walk through De Marne. In this vast region you will pass through Pieterburen, among others. Then you walk through Lauwersmeer National Park. Then you walk through polders again. Enjoy the tranquility and rich cultural history in old villages.

Martinitoren
Of course you also walk through Groningen city. In the charming and beautiful old center you can see, among other things, the Martini Tower. The Gold Office and the town hall are also well-known sights. The Dannemeer is a relatively new unspoilt nature reserve in the Slochteren region. Here you see a mosaic of reeds, sedges, swamp forests and open water. Further on you walk along the Schildmeer and through Delfzijl.
