Description
Would you like to experience what it's like to cycle part of the Amstel Gold Race, but the steep Limburg hills scare you off? Then this loop along the Grensmaas valley is really something for you. Along the way you will encounter mild climbs and beautiful views, but you will be spared the real calf biters. So as a beginner you can also taste the atmosphere of this famous cycling race.
On to Maastricht
The starting point of this route is on the outskirts of Valkenburg. From here you set course for the banks of the Meuse. You climb successively the Daalhemmerweg and the Cauberg. A little later the climb of the Geulhemmerberg follows. Then your legs are already nicely warmed up, but you still have a long way to go. From Maastricht you cycle parallel to the course of the Maas to Stein. Along the way you can enjoy the most beautiful spots in the Grensmaas valley.
Just climb
You cycle back south via the Lange Raarberg. From Voerendaal you cycle through various towns back to Valkenburg. In addition, you cycle over long, not so steep hills such as the Mingersberg and the Vrakelberg. Via the Cauberg you will eventually reach the starting point of the route in Valkenburg.
