From B&B De Ster van Dwingeloo you first cycle into Dwingeloo. Because of the many well-preserved old farms and houses, Dwingeloo enjoys a protected village view. Here you can admire, among other things, the fifteenth-century St. Nicholas Church. The spire has the striking shape of an onion. Further on you cycle through the forests of the Dwingelderzand, a sub-area of the Dwingelderveld National Park. In the picturesque Westeinde you will pass Oldengaerde. In the fields around Diever it is wonderfully peaceful to travel for miles between the grasslands and arable lands. You cycle into Berkenheuvel, the wooded estate that belongs to the Drents-Friese Wold. Further on you cycle through the stream valley of the Dwingelerstroom and along the edge of the Lheebroekerzand. During your tour you will pass Restaurant de Riete, step off and relax with a snack and drink.
Below you will find various suggestions for breaks that you can visit during your route. These are divided into different categories, making it easy for you to choose.
