Tour of Marken and 't Twiske

Take a look around Marken, a former island with a well-preserved cultural history, before crossing by boat to another characteristic town: Volendam. From the beautiful old harbor you can drive straight into the polders. Here you drive past vast meadows with cows, a beautiful Dutch picture. Further on you cycle along the Purmer Ee, an old connection between the Purmerpolder and the former Zuiderzee. You will also pass 't Twiske, a beautiful unspoilt and water-rich nature reserve.'t Schouw is a former seventeenth-century transfer point for the barge traffic between Amsterdam and Hoorn.
