Tour of Heerde and IJssel Valley

Along the wooded edge of the Veluwe it is wonderful to cycle through the IJssel valley. Here you will find plenty of peace, space and natural beauty. You will also pass several historical sights. From Restaurant-Snackbar-Partyservice De Spikke you cycle past Landgoed en Kasteel Vosbergen. Just outside the village you cycle over the estate of this castle from 1623. Junction 33 is a beautiful quiet spot. At the wooden dike warehouse from 1900 you can take a bench and enjoy the silence and the view. You can also view a monumental lock from 1894 here. Pouwel Bakhuis is a pumping station from 1919. Cycling over the dike you have beautiful views over the IJssel. You pass old farms and the corn mill De Vlijt from 1887. Back in the cozy Heerde you can see the beautiful Johanneskerk.
