Tour of Heerde and IJsselvallei

Cycling through the IJssel Valley is wonderful along the wooded edge of the Veluwe. You will find plenty of peace, space and natural beauty here. You will also pass some historical sights. From Restaurant-Snackbar-Partyservice De Spikke you drive past Vosbergen Estate and Castle. Just outside the village you cycle through the estate of this castle from 1623. Junction 33 is a beautifully tranquil spot. At the wooden dike warehouse from 1900 you can take a bench and enjoy the silence and the view. You can also view a monumental lock from 1894 here. Pouwel Bakhuis is a pumping station from 1919. Cycling along the dike you have beautiful views over the IJssel. You pass old farms and the De Vlijt flour mill from 1887. Back in cozy Heerde you can see the beautiful Johanneskerk.
