Walking through Grave and surroundings

This walking route consists of two loops. The first takes you through the beautiful old town of Grave. The second leads you through nature just outside the village of Velp.

Graafs Museum
From Motel Koolen you walk into the countryside. You will soon reach the historic center of Grave. No matter how small Grave is, you will find many centuries-old buildings there. Every now and then it seems like you are walking back in time. You can visit the Graafs Museum if you want to learn more about the history of this beautiful town. This museum is located in a wing of the Hampoort, a city gate from 1688.

Graafse Window
You walk through the countryside on car-free roads. Here you will find a mix of grassy meadows, fields and small forest plots. It is nice and quiet to walk here, ideal if you want to relax for a while. You walk a bit along the leafy banks of the Graafse Raam.'t Meulengat is located next to this watercourse. When this fish pond was dug in 1985, remains of an ancient mill were found.
