The Westland consists of more than just greenhouses. You will find surprising nature reserves and beautiful old villages.
Ockenburgh estate
From Minicamping Zwetzone you can drive straight into the polder. After a while you cycle along the edge of The Hague through two adjacent recreational areas: De Uithof and Madestein. Further on you pass through Ockenburgh Estate, a wooded country estate that originally dates from the seventeenth century. This estate connects to the Solleveld, a nature reserve consisting of dunes, grasslands and forests. What a change!
\\\'t Woudt
Just outside Hoek van Holland you pass through the Staelduinse Bos. This special nature reserve is located on a remnant of former estuary dunes and was established as an estate in the nineteenth century. You drive past Wollebrand and Kraaiennest, two quiet recreational areas that also serve as water storage.'t Woudt is an ancient picturesque village where time seems to have stood still. Grape nursery Nieuw Tuinzight is a nice stopover, stock up on something tasty here.
