Description
This route along the Overijsselse Vecht takes you from Dalfsen to Ommen. Along the way you will be amazed with all the sights that can be found here. Add to that beautiful, quiet outdoor areas and you have a beautiful cycling route.
The vast landscape around Dalfsen
The boarding point of this route is the train station in Dalfsen. From here you will soon cycle past Huize Den Berg, a manor house dating from 1705. There was already another house before that, but it was demolished to build a new one. The house was restored in 1985 and is surrounded by a beautiful park.
Nature reserve Lemelerberg
A little further on you cycle past the Dalfsen Resistance Monument. You then cycle into the Lemelerberg nature reserve. You then cycle through the Lemelerberg nature reserve. This area consists of small heaths, juniper thickets, deciduous forests and sandy plains. You will also find the Lemelerberg here, which is over 60 meters high. From the top of this mountain you have a beautiful view of the surrounding area.
On the way to Ommen
From here you set course in the direction of Ommen. You will pass windmill De Konijnenbelt, a sheepfold and Landgoed het Laer with an old manor house that is worth admiring. Along the way you will visit the nature reserve Earlier Achterbroek. Here you can experience the peace and beauty of a distant past in a landscape full of fields, meadows, wooded banks, forests and heaths. You will eventually arrive at Ommen train station. Here you can take the train home or continue the route back to Zwolle.
