Wide views, tranquility and a special cultural history. You will experience it all with this varied route. You start your cycling day on the edge of the former island of Wieringen. In Westerland you will pass, among other things, the Nicholas Church, whose tower dates from the fifteenth century. Further on you pass through Hippolytushoef. Here you can take a look at the old Hippolytus Church, which is partly built of tuff stone. De Onderneming is a beautiful flour mill from 1851. On car-free roads you drive past meadows, characteristic farms and high garden walls that were constructed as a boundary fence. On the edge of the Kooibos it is time for a refreshing break at the Wieringer Ice Cream and Dairy Farm. Finally, you take a tour around the Amstelmeer. And you will pass a monumental gauge house from 1919.
