With this route you will experience a beautiful day in the IJsselvallei. You will pass through some historic towns, such as picturesque Zutphen. You can also fully enjoy the natural beauty along the IJssel.
Beautiful Brummen
First you pass through beautiful Voorst. Just after Empe you drive along a leafy road. On your left you will see a small lake: it is a remnant of the Oude IJssel. In picturesque Brummen you cycle past the fifteenth-century St. Pancratius Church. From the bridge over the IJssel you have a beautiful view over the floodplains.
Tower city Zutphen
Take a moment to enjoy the historic atmosphere in Zutphen. This Hanseatic town has one of the best preserved old city centers in the Netherlands! In the countryside you pass the Molen Geertruida Cornelia, a flour mill from 1893. A little later you cycle along the Ravenswaarden. This unique nature reserve near the IJssel is one of the best preserved Dutch meandering values. You will also find plenty of natural beauty and tranquility on the other bank of the IJssel.
