Description
It is wonderful to cycle around Volkel. You will find beautiful nature reserves here, such as the Goorse Bossen and the Trentse Bossen. You will also pass through pleasant Uden.
Goorse Forests
You cycle straight into the countryside of Volkel. Here you drive through a series of arable fields and grasslands. It is wonderfully peaceful to travel for miles here. Ideal to immediately shake off the everyday routine. Along the road you occasionally see a beautiful old long-fronted farmhouse. You will also pass through the Goorse Bossen, a small-scale nature reserve.
Trent Forests
L120 is a listening point from the Liberation Route. Here you will learn more about the fierce battle that American soldiers fought in this region in September 1944, after they were cut off by German troops. Uden is a charming village, on the Markt you can see the Town Hall from 1938. Via Volkel you drive to the mining village of Odiliapeel, a little further on you drive through the Trentse Forests where mainly Scots pine and American oak grow.
