The windmills are doing well on Goeree-Overflakkee: the wind blows nicely here. But with this route you have the wind at your back as much as possible on the open stretches, so you can enjoy views over the Haringvliet and the beautiful old villages!
Historic Middelharnis
The beautiful old village of Middelharnis is an immediate hit at the start of your route. That is promising! You cycle east along the Haringvliet - which is nice, because you usually have a tailwind!
Beautiful windmills
Just look how fast the blades turn of De Bommelaer, a mill from 1738. It contains parts of a seventeenth-century mill that was built on the same site. In the village of Achthuizen you can admire the Windlust, dating from 1852. There is also a beautiful mill from 1768 in Nieuw-Tonge, d\\\'Oranjeboom. Via Dirkshorn you drive back into beautiful Middelharnis.
