Description
South of the Limburg church village of Koningslust you will find the Vlakbroek, a beautiful and green area that forms the perfect backdrop for a walk. Natural beauty and tranquility make this nature reserve attractive for walkers who want to relax completely. In wet periods it can get quite soggy here, so put on your rain boots and enjoy this walk.
Nature reserve Het Vlasbroek
Koningslust is the starting point of this route. From here you immediately walk into the nature reserve Het Vlakbroek. This area is located in the valley of the Everlose Brook and is the habitat of numerous bird species and colorful butterflies. To be precise, you can find no fewer than 64 bird species and 31 butterfly species here. This area used to be connected to the Maas and it is still a relatively wet area today. Part of this walk is on grassy paths that can get muddy. So be prepared for that when you head out here.
On the road with the little ones
This walk is not that long, so this trip is also doable for the youngest. Go out together and make it a treasure hunt to discover the different animals in this area. Along the way you will find, among other things, a bird observation point where you can stop for a while.
Note: There are also signs in this area with'Vlakbroekroute\\\'. That's a different route than this one. This route runs entirely through the walking node network.
