Description
In the area between Hillegom and De Zilk you can walk along the vast fields that are used for the cultivation of flower bulbs. In the autumn there are no colourful flowers to be seen here, but you can relax and enjoy the autumn feeling in the surroundings of cosy flower villages. For the real walking enthusiast.
On to the Ruigenhoek
The starting point of this route is at De Jong Kampeer & Recreatie Hillegom-De Zilk. Here you can find all the hiking equipment you may not have thought of. Fully prepared? Then it's time to hit the road. You continue walking along the edge of the Amsterdam Waterleidingduinen to De Zilk and back to Hillegom.
Court in Hillegom
In Hillegom you can take a look at the Hof te Hillegom. The oldest mention of this country house dates from 1420, but it is not known when exactly this house was built. In the 14th century, the nobles from the county of Holland regularly met here to consult. Admire this country house and then walk further to the start and end point of this route.
Blow out in the dunes
Do you feel like getting a breath of fresh air in the dunes? Then you can extend your walk with a detour through the waterleidingduinen. In the area of de Zilk you will pass an entrance gate to this beautiful area. Please note: You have to pay an entrance fee to be allowed to walk here. Here and there garden gnomes are hidden in the dunes for a little extra autumn atmosphere.
