Description
In the area between Hillegom and De Zilk you can enjoy walking along the extensive fields that are used for flower bulb cultivation. In the autumn there are no colorful flowers to be seen here, but you can relax and enjoy the autumn feeling in the surroundings of charming flower villages. For the real hiking enthusiast.
On to the Ruigenhoek
The starting point of this route is at De Jong Kampeer & Recreatie Hillegom-De Zilk. Here you can find all the hiking necessities that you may not have thought of. Completely prepared? Then it's time to hit the road. You continue walking along the edge of the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes to De Zilk and back to Hillegom.

In Hillegom you can take a look at the Hof te Hillegom. The oldest mention of this country house dates from 1420, but it is not known exactly when this house was built. In the 14th century, nobles from the county of Holland regularly met here to discuss matters. Admire this country house and then continue walking to the start and end point of this route.
Get a breath of fresh air in the dunes
Would you like to get some fresh air in the dunes? Then you can extend your walk with a detour through the water supply dunes. In the vicinity of the Zilk you will pass an entrance gate to this beautiful area. Please note: You must pay an entrance fee to be allowed to walk here. Garden gnomes are hidden here and there in the dunes for a little extra autumn atmosphere.
