E-bike route estates and castles on the IJssel

Along the IJssel you take a beautiful trip through old farmlands, water-rich nature reserves and beautiful towns. In short: a wonderful day of cycling! On the IJsseldijk you will pass De Haere Estate. There is an old manor here, but also part of the IJssel Line: one of the largest defenses built during the Cold War. Further on is Groot Hoenlo: an originally thirteenth-century manor. In beautiful Olst you will pass the thirteenth-century village church. Further on is Huis Westervoorde, an eighteenth-century country estate. There is a lookout tower at the former brick factory on Fortmonderweg, where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the IJssel and the floodplain landscape. You also drive through picturesque Wijhe and along the bird-rich Buitenwaarden.
