Landgoed De Haere

On the estate De Haere you will find manor De Haere. The estate is 130 hectares and in addition to a country house you will find a park, outbuildings, a number of farms, a mixed forest, meadows and arable land. On the estate is a fake ruin, the largest sundial in Europe and the remains of the extensive defense system of the IJssellinie. The house now serves as the office of the IJssellandschap Foundation and a catering facility is located on the ground floor. It is unknown when the country house De Haere was built exactly, but it was already mentioned in documents in the 14th century. Around 1778, the then owner had a large part of the house renovated to make it suitable for living with his family. This renovation gave the house its present appearance with a main building with moat, two projecting wings and a portico and a balcony in between. In the mid-19th century, the garden and park surrounding the house were redesigned in the English landscape style.
