This route takes you along the Zwarte Meer, a lake that was created in 1940 after the construction of the Noordoostpolder. You will pass through picturesque Genemuiden and Schokland.

Old Kraggenburg
Here you can enjoy views of the polder landscape, but also the lee of the Voorsterbos. Just before junction 14 you will pass a striking elevation in the landscape: Oud-Kraggenburg, a former artificial island in the Zuiderzee. The monumental lightkeeper's house dates from 1877. Further on, you can look out over the Zwarte Meer from the dike.

World Heritage Schokland
At the Kamperzeedijk you will pass the steam pumping station Mastenbroek. This building from 1855 is in the Top 100 of National Monuments! Further on you drive through the beautiful polders on the Kampereiland. At MuseumBoerderij Erf 29 you can learn more about local history. Schokland is also a unique part of the Netherlands. For centuries it was an island in the Zuiderzee.
